This intensive course combines three essential acquisition methods—Chip-On, Chip-Off, and JTAG—into one program. Students learn to safely remove and reattach chips, acquire data from locked or damaged devices, and troubleshoot reattachment or connection issues. With a focus on modern best practices and when to apply (or avoid) each method, the training equips investigators with the skills needed to handle today’s most challenging extractions.

The combined Chip-Off and JTAG Class provides students with an intensive eight days of training in both techniques for acquiring data from devices that use flash memory for storage. The course delivers a fully hands-on experience, including extensive practice in device disassembly, soldering for JTAG acquisitions, and removing chips from boards for direct reading. Students learn multiple JTAG connection methods, and work with a diverse range of memory chips removed from various devices.
Class structure and order may vary based on customer requirements or instructor availability.
This eight-day course is offered at Teel Technologies locations in the U.S. and Canada, or it can be delivered onsite at a client’s facility. Pricing varies depending on the location and the number of students.
