The Teel Technologies Next Generation Chip on/ Chip off course provides digital forensic examiners, investigators, and technicians with a comprehensive education in the method for chip off and chip off/ chip on processes.
Students will gain the necessary skills in how to approach, handle, and extract data using the chip off and chip off/ chip on processes.
Through a combination of lectures, instructor demonstrations, and hands on practical exercises, students will learn the indispensable skill of removing a memory chip or removing and reattaching an integrated circuit to a printed circuit board, which is a necessary skill when dealing with today’s data extraction options. Utilizing state of the art equipment, students will learn and understand the different chip off methods and when to apply each method. Students will also learn troubleshooting techniques that can be applied to fix technician errors that occurred during the process.

Meet the Course Creator
Maggie Gaffney is a nationally recognized digital forensics expert, instructor, and curriculum developer with over three decades of law enforcement and forensic experience. She currently serves as director of services and senior instructor at Teel Technologies, where she develops and teaches advanced courses in embedded hardware forensics, mobile device acquisition, vehicle forensics, UAV forensics, SQLite analysis, chip-off/chip-on, ISP, JTAG, and board level repair.
A former Massachusetts State Police Trooper and Computer Crimes Investigator, Maggie has conducted thousands of forensic examinations, testified as an expert witness in federal and state courts, and holds extensive certifications across mobile, hardware, and software forensics, including FAA Remote Pilot certification for UAV investigations.
